How I Work

Well, for me – this is the exciting part.  And, it should excite you and your web production team(s) as well.  The goal of Web Access Consulting is to get web design and development teams headed-off in the right direction.

I will do a one-time thirty minute de-brief with your team members after I have looked at the surface level of your web site (if it’s already live).  Or, the time will be spent with your team where we’ll discuss your basic ideas and see if we can “flush out” possible web accessibility concerns.  After our initial meeting, we will decide how to proceed.  You have nothing to loose because the first thirty minutes will be free.  If you’re not local or near my location – we will be creative and figure out a way to web or audio conference.  Bottom line – distance will not be an issue.

I do not consider myself to be a web designer but I have many years of experience related to disability, especially with regard to assistive technologies and methods that persons with disabilities use to access the internet.  And, I do have enough web design background with the various (and most popular) web development tools which helps me understand some of the design and development issues you may encounter.  I have used Adobe (formally Macromedia) Dreamweaver, WordPress and HotMetal Pro – all very different tools but each having some accessibility tools built-in.

If you are new to web design and want to target a larger audience, please contact me by e-mail.  Oh, yes, do not forget to sign up for my monthly newsletter.
